Obituary for Victoria Clementina Stewart

There was a man named George Gayle who had one daughter. One day he took her with him to his farm. He placed the baby on the bed. For a few minutes he had to tend to his animals so he asked Felix, the gardener who worked with him for a long time, to keep an eye on the baby as he would be back in a short while. While the baby slept in the house, Felix set the house on fire. As he sat there watching the fire, there was a passerby who saw the fire and stopped by thinking he was going to save the possessions, but instead found the baby on the bed. Like the Patriarch Moses, God saved the baby’s life for a very special purpose. That baby was Victoria Stewart.
Victoria C. Stewart, nee Gayle was the only sister among three bothers: George, Aaron, and Kenneth. She was born on April 29, 1935. She married Cecil Lloyd Stewart who preceded her in death on April 16, 2013. She was the mother of 5 children, 10 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
Much like in the Scriptures when Moses saw the burning bush that was not consumed, Victoria too saw a burning bush in 1951 that was not consumed. There were more than an acre burning. The presence of God was with her. Like the great sinner Saul, who God forgave and changed his name to Paul, God too forgave Victoria and gave her a new name. For many years, God used her in different Prisons and Churches to minister to inmates and congregations. Like Joshua, she was called by God to be a leader and was used by God to pastor churches for years. God made her justified, sanctified, and sent her to the world to preach the gospel. She attended Jamaica Open Bible Institute where she obtained her Diploma in Theology. She later became an ordained Pastor. She worked as a full time Pastor at Emmanuel Open Bible Church in Manchester Jamaica, Hebron Open Bible Church in Kingston Jamaica, and Triumphant Open Bible Church also in Kingston, Jamaica. During her tenure at these churches she was a member of the Board of Directors. She later became the Divisional Superintendent over the Open Bible Churches in Middlesex County in Jamaica and also the Divisional Superintendent over Surrey County. Her next commission was to become the National Director for all of the Open Bible churches in Jamaica.
Cecil and Victoria moved to Raleigh, North Carolina in 1990. Since living here, she has served as Ministerial Alliance Chaplin for over five years. She has preached in various States in the United States and in Grand Cayman Island. In 2009, under the direction of the Holy Spirit she started a Prayer Line which has continued to today. There were many miracles that occurred and many prayers answered. Victoria Stewart’s life was saved so that she could share the Word of God and reach as many souls for Christ. She loved the Lord, and she lived it and shared it wherever she went. Victoria went home to be with the Lord on September 5, 2019. If she was here today, her encouragement to you would be to prepare your hearts to meet the Lord. She was very much loved and will be greatly missed by all.
