Obituary for Johnnie Mae Tucker
Johnnie Mae Felth Tucker, the daughter of John Felth and Mattie Stokes was born August 19, 1931 in Raleigh, NC . She departed her life at Wellington Rehabilitation and Healthcare in Knightdale, NC.
Johnnie Mae completed her education at the Catholic School in Raleigh, NC on Hillsborough Street. At an early age, she attended St. Paul Church with her family and loved church as a child. She would always talk about the church, and later joined Mt. Calvary Holiness Church where Evangelist Shirley Caesar was the pastor. Johnnie was fully committed as she ushered and attended every church service.
Johnnie Mae worked as a full-time line cooked at Peoples Choco Flame for many years until they closed. She loved cooking so much, she stayed in the food industry and worked for Copper Barbecue in Raleigh, NC and Chicken in the Box until retirement.
Mom was a very sweet women; however, she always made sure her sons, daughters and grands were straight and walked the narrow path. She loved everyone and lived her life to the absolute fullest.
Johnnie Mae was preceded in death by her husband, James Lee Tucker, Sr.; sons, James Lee Tucker, Jr. Charles Felth, and Smith Tucker; father, John Felth; mother, Mattie Stocks and brother, Arthur Felth.
Johnnie Mae leaves in mourning her sons, Edward Felth, Herbert Tucker and Jerry Tucker all of Raleigh; daughters, Barbara Johnson (Michael) of Wendell; Nadine Tucker (Tracey) and Bugetta Lee Evans (Steven) all of Raleigh; grandchildren, Stephanie Tucker of Baltimore, MD, Jasmine N. Tucker-Harris of Idaho, Dawn Privette, Carrie Privette, Heaven Tucker and Precious Tucker all of Wendell, Wevsi Batchelor, Lisa Hines, Rodney Hines, Quantez Tucker, Smith Tucker, Jr, Smith Tucker, III, Martay Perry, Justin Tucker, Travon Jones, Semaj Tucker, and Na’quan Tucker all of Raleigh; great-grandchildren, Zhyir Hines, Ahmari McRae, Michael Bowe, Justice Swan Harris, Shylur Tucker, Jhynae Tucker, and Mateo Tucker, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
