Obituary for Evon Fowler

Evon Fowler was born June 3, 1960 to Bertha Lou Fowler of Raleigh and Dave McKnight of Wake Forest. She was called to her eternal rest on Friday evening May 15, 2020 at Covington Assisted Living with an unforgiving struggle with Dementia.

Evon received a formal education at Broughton High School where she proceeded her education at Rutledge College receiving her Associates degree. Later finishing her education at Saint Augustine College where she received her Bachelors degree in Human Studies.

Evon was employed at the Hilton in Raleigh for fifteen years, when she decided to use her degree and work at Wake County’s Human Services where she served dutifully twenty years before retiring in 2012.

Evon had a bright and energetic personality. She touched many lives with her generosity and passion for life. In her leisure she enjoyed cooking, spending time with her family and helping others. In 2013, she was diagnosed with Vascular Dementia.

Evon was preceded in death by her mother Bertha Lou, father Dave McKnight, uncle Cleveland Fowler, nephew Adarius Fowler, and brother-in-law Lloyd Herring.

Evon’s beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her one daughter, Tatianna Fowler; two sisters, Stella Fowler and Blonnie Herring; two brothers, Jerry Fowler (Ruby Fowler) and Marshall Fowler; nineteen nieces and nephews; forty-two great nieces and nephews; thirteen great-great nieces and nephews; and a host of cousins and other loving relatives and friends.
