Obituary for Christine V. Johnson
Christine Johnson of Raleigh, NC departed this life peacefully on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 in Raleigh, NC at the age of 78. She will be remembered as a great mom, grand mom, sister, aunt and friend. She is survived by her 2 sisters, Aljurie Spivey (Pete) of Plainfield, New Jersey, Ann Beale of East Orange, New Jersey and 3 children, Terris Rene Moss (Leon) of Ewing, NJ, Eric Franklin Lewis (Shenna) of Oxford, NC and Kheesha Michelle Lewis-Edwards of Raleigh, NC and 5 grandchildren, Tamanisa Lewis of Oxford, NC, Eric Lewis Jr, of Oxford, NC, Jasmine Riddick of Raleigh, NC, Bionica Lewis of Raleigh, NC and Terrel Moss of Ewing, NJ. She is preceded in death by her 2 sisters Pida Young of Oxford, NC, Lucille Lee of San Diego, CA and 1 brother, June Cozart of Oxford, NC.
Christine Johnson was born on December 24,1940 in Oxford, North Carolina to the parents of Erving Cozart and Queen Isabelle Ragland-Cozart. She graduated from Nursing school in 1960 and began her career as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Throughout her nursing career she worked at several public schools, hospitals, nursing homes and also worked private duty. On January 16, 1982 she dedicated her life to Jehovah, was baptized and became one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She remained a faithful and dedicated servant throughout her life. One of the hardest things for Christine to accept was growing old and not being able to have as full a share in her Christian ministry. But she made it a point to use every opportunity that presented. .
A reception will follow at the home of Eric and Shenna Lewis. 6602 Clearwater Dr, Oxford, NC 27565. All are welcome to attend.
