Carlton L. Gray Sr.

Carlton was born and raised in Wayne County NC. He attended and graduated from Charles B Aycock High School. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the US Army. He later attended John Tyler Community College in Chester Va and graduated with a  degree in Funeral Service. He is a retired US Army Veteran and a member of the Prince Hall Masons and several civic organizations.    He  attends Riley Hill Baptist Church in Wendell NC. Carlton and Mirranda have five children and one grandson together. 
 

Mirranda Gray

Mirranda was born in Wilson Co., NC where she attended and graduated from Beddingfield High School. She served many years with the Department of Public Safety. She is a Certified Crematory Technician and Office Administrator. Mirranda is currently pursuing a degree in Funeral Service. She is a member of Riley Hill Baptist Church in Wendell, NC. Mirranda is the loving wife of Mr. Carlton L. Gray, Sr. , they have five wonderful children and one energetic grandson.   

CJ Gray

CJ Gray is a 2018 graduate of Knightdale High School. He is pursuing his degree in Funeral Service and Business Management. He enjoys fishing and the outdoors.  CJ is  a certified crematory technician.  

Calvin Cherry

Mr. Calvin L. Cherry is a native of Farmville, NC where he attended and graduated from Farmville High School. He serves as a funeral director and mortician with the company since July 2016.  He has been around the funeral service since his early teenage years. Calvin graduated from Fayetteville Technical Community College with an Associates Degree in Applied Science with   a concentration in Funeral Service Education. Currently licensed with NC Board of Funeral Services and The National Conference of  Funeral Service,  he is  also a Life Insurance Agent in NC.  Mr. Cherry is an active member and minister of Willow Chapel Primitive Baptist Church in Old Sparta, NC.

Benjamin Wilder lives in Pikeville NC and is a retired from Cherry Hospital in Goldsboro NC with 30 years of service. He is a graduate of Norwayne High School  and a member of the Norwayne Alumni Association.  Ben attends Hooks Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Pikeville NC, where he serves on the Trustee Board.  Ben is an avid sports fan.   

Doug Taylor

Doug was born and raised in Nash County. He has attended both Nash and Wake Technical Community Colleges . He is also a proud business owner.  Doug is married to Jeanette and they have two children and one grandchild. He is a member of the Wake Chapel Church in Raleigh, where he serves a Trustee.

 

James Leak

James was born and raised in Garner, NC. He graduated from Garner Senior High School. James enjoys going to see Nascar racing and spending time with family and friends. He is a member of Springfield Baptist Church, Raleigh NC and the Prince Hall Masons.  James handles the majority of our after hours removal and transport duties.  He and his wife Deborah have two children and three grandchildren.  

 

Kermit Richardson

Kermit was born in Norfolk, VA and raised in Nashville, NC. He graduated from Nash Central High School in Nashville, NC in 1964. Kermit spent his career in the telephone industry working for many companies; Southern New England, Bell South, AT&T, Lucent Technology, and AVAYA Inc. as a Customer Service Engineer. He retired from AVAYA Inc. in 2002 with 34 years served. He attends Wake Chapel Church and has been an active member since 1988. Kermit is married to Lizzie Richardson and they have two children; Cassandra and Lamont and five grandchildren.

James Snelling

James “ Butch” Snelling is a graduate of Apex Consolidated High School, class of 1968. He attended NC Central University. Butch is retired from Law Enforcement. He attends Stokes Chapel Baptist Church of Zebulon, NC. He is a member of the Capital City Cruisers and Apex Alumni. Butch has two daughters and two grandchildren. Butch has been apart of our team since we opened in 2004. 

Ken Alston

Ken is a native of Warrenton, NC. He graduated from John R. Hawkins High School and Johnston County Technical Community College with a Business Degree. He served our county in the U.S. Army as a Combat Engineer. He attends Mt. Peace Baptist Church. Ken is married to Betty Alston and they have two children and seven grandchildren.

Leon Clark

Leon was born in Raleigh, NC. He attended W.G. Enloe High School and Shaw Unversity. He earned his MBA Degree from Strayer University. Leon served our country in the U.S. Army. He attends Springfield Baptist Church, Raleigh, NC. Leon is married to Faith Clark and they have two children. 

Lenwood Andrews

Lenwood C. Andrews a native of Nash County. He attended and graduated from Nash Co. Schools and Wilson Community College in 1984. Lenwood has 30 years experience in the Funeral Service. He is currently a member of the Rocky Chapel Baptist Church, Louisburg, NC and a member of Martin Luther King Lodge #294, Spring Hope, NC. Lenwood has one daughter Venus Andrews and a grandson. He is a certified crematory technician.  

Liz Richardson

Lizzie was born and raised in Rocky Mount, NC. She graduated from Nash Central High School in Nashville, NC in 1964. After graduation, she attended OIC School of Banking in New Haven, Connecticut. Liz served 30 years and retired from Wachovia Bank, is now known as Wells-Fargo. She joined Carlton Gray on opening day in 2004 as Office Administrator. She attends Wake Chapel Church and has been an active member since 1988. Lizzie is married to Kermit Richardson and they have two children; Cassandra and Lamont and five grandchildren. 

Robert D. Hood

Dr. Robert Dedrick Hood was born in LaGrange, NC. He received his formal education in the Lenoir County Schools Systems. Dr. Hood serves as the pastor of St. Mark Church of Christ Disciples of Christ in Faro , NC. In addition to his many notable achievements, Pastor Hood received his Associate Degree in Funeral Services from Fayetteville Technical Community College in Fayetteville, NC. As a family man, he's married to Elder Tachala Dawson-Hood.  They  have nine children and five grandchildren.
