Carlton L. Gray, owner and president of Carlton L. Gray Funeral & Cremation Services. Upon graduating Charles B. Aycock High School, Mr. Gray enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving his country in tours of duty with 101st Airborne Air Assault Division, 7th Infantry (Light), Operation Just Cause, Panama in 1989 and a tour in Europe. After retiring from the U.S. Army, Carlton decided to further his education at John Tyler Community College, Chester, VA, in the Mortuary Science program. Graduating summa cum laude in 1993. Upon receiving his degree in funeral service and realizing an opportunity to serve the public in a greater capacity, Carlton opened Carlton L. Gray Funeral & Cremation Services, April 2004. Carlton is a member of Riley Hill Baptist Church, Wendell, NC. He is also the Past Master of Martin Luther King Jr. Lodge #294, and a member of Coretta S. King OES, Boyer Consistory, Kabala Temple Shriners, American Legion and the North State Law Enforcement. Carlton’s goal is to serve the “Needs of people today with the compassion of yesterday”.
